Pi Rack – PCB Board Testing

It is getting closer. The PCBs arrived, and I tested all the routes. Everything is working. Learned something new about the multimeter. The beep will check your route to make sure it is there. I have never worked with a multimeter, so I am enjoying this project.

I am a little upset. Either I lost one of the PCB boards, or one was shorted in transit from the company that made them. If you saw my desk, you would say, “I lost one.”

As I learn more about the multimeter, I need to write it down here so I don’t have to Google it every time. Do not use it enough for it to commit to memory.

I ordered the Mean Well LRS-350-5, a Fuse Block, a Raspberry Pi 5, some 2-pin Molex Micro-fit 3.0 connectors, and a breakout board that supports Ferrules. Fought a long time with Gen AI…

After a bit of work, I got the PI 5 to boot off the headers with no warnings. That was a big relief. Now I can order the remaining supplies and put the rack together. A couple of settings in the config.txt were needed. Rebooted and everything ran fine. I tested the voltage using the…
